From Graubünden to Valais, from the delicate butterfly to the mighty ibex: our mountains are home to countless species of animals and plants. Sadly, these are severely threatened by various factors such as climate change, urban sprawl and pollution. What's more, the Alps are the water towers of Europe thanks to their glaciers and springs. All of this makes the Swiss Alpine region especially worthy of protection. The WWF is helping to preserve important habitats with numerous specific projects, and advocates on a political level to create the framework conditions necessary for protection.
Coop is protecting the climate together with the WWF
From the rainforests of the Amazon to the coral reefs of the Indo-Pacific: since 1961, the WWF has been committed to protecting our planet by implementing countless projects around the world. In the process, it has been supported by its members, which today total over five million. In Switzerland, for example, it promotes school lessons in nature, where children learn to appreciate and respect the environment. The campaign week "Ab in die Natur" (Get into Nature), which has been running for four years, has already reached around 700,000 children.
